From the first prints to the challenges of the future: the evolution of Colour's Company

Our story begins with a dream: that of Alfio Frigerio who, having graduated in dyeing chemistry, turned to printing by working in a print shop and then, on the strength of the experience gained and driven by the desire to create something of his own, founded Colour's Company together with two partners.

It was 1985 and Milan was becoming one of the two fashion capitals of the world. It is a period of great ferment, where extraordinary personalities invent styles and trends destined to change the industry forever, showing horizons that previously seemed unthinkable. One of these is Franco Moschino, and it is precisely his meeting with Moschino that is the decisive push that allows Alfio's dream to take off. This is not the only stage in a path of continuous evolution: other partnerships and new encounters will follow, such as those with Alexander McQueen, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, from which unforgettable working adventures and unique projects are born, allowing us to consolidate and grow.

To live up to a world where excellence is the only possible standard, we needed and still need determination, adaptability and the will to turn every possible obstacle into an opportunity, as well as an infinite passion: the mentality that has always accompanied us and allowed us to achieve great goals. Over the years we have accompanied the evolution of the sector, moving from traditional to digital printing techniques, without ever renouncing craftsmanship control and sartorial quality of the result.

Today, Colour's Company is a point of reference for those looking for competence, rapid response and innovative spirit. Our historical archive, which is currently being digitised, contains more than 20,000 images that encapsulate almost all the work we have done, a mine of inspiration for us and our customers. Because we have never stopped looking ahead: we continue to experiment, to invest in sustainable technologies and to cultivate the same curiosity that has guided us since the beginning.

1985

Our business was born: Alfio Frigerio realised that the time was right to put what he had learnt first at school, then in the silk factory and finally specialising in fabric printing to good use and set up Colour's Company together with two partners.

1994

The company is now well established, but in work as in life, change is the only real constant: nine years after the company was founded, Alfio starts out on his own, without any partners. A choice that proves to be a winner and allows us to grow even more.

2015

Stefano Frigerio joins Colour's Company: Alfio's son, who graduated in management engineering and then went on to work in information systems at Dolce & Gabbana, decides to put his experience at the service of Colour's Company. Ours becomes a family story.

2020

We are moving to new premises in Via al Bassone, in Como. A larger space, designed also to house the rich archive of materials produced and collected in thirty-five years of activity: a heritage of experiences, colours, designs and fabrics that recounts the past and continues to inspire the present.

At the threshold of 40 years, it is time to stop and think. We feel the need for a brand that represents the future of textile printing and at the same time can be a seal of assurance. The rebranding operation allows us to tell our story with a renewed outlook: more than a brand, a declaration of intent.
